Can we get a Phoenix Session of Stay on My Side Tonight? I'd settle for just Disintegration

 

I’ve read through these comments and threw on the studio version of Clarity and y’all are right. My excitement for how good the live Clarity sounded clouded my judgment. I redact my hot take of “exact same.”

It happened too fast to make sense of it.

 

Clarity the album is better produced, sure. Clarity the Phoenix Session carries a comfort with the songs and a distance and growth which could've only come with age.

They serve different masters, and yeah, I'm gonna listen to the album proper more still, but the Phoenix Session version is incredible, even on another level than the prior 2009 Clarity Live release.

 

Have to respectfully disagree. I thought it sounded fantastic. I got chills the first time i watched and it transitioned from the ringing phone to the performance.

 

Both exist for fans to enjoy. Doesn’t have to be a better and a worse, since one is studio produced and other a live setting. Add in the years apart plus better production technology, knowledge and musicianship to give a fresh or different take on already loved albums.

Hope they’re busy working on writing a new album and maybe the positive feedback is a clear indication to the band to do more Phoenix Sessions in the future.

Let's be real, they have ten perfect albums

 

i have about 5 hours of traveling i’m doing today and i might fuck around and do a catalog run.

 

Yeah Futures and CTL are pretty perfect.

 

three of their albums are perfect and they are the three in a row of clarity, bleed american and futures.

chase this light has grown on me a lot but an album with electable on it cannot be perfect

 

Its not my favorite on CTL but its not a bad song IMO.

 

As I've been reading Sellout i've been listening through to the albums mentioned in it. Clarity is really finally starting to hit the way it always seemed it should but never did. I didn't get into JEW until Futures came out so it always kinda seemed like the demos before they became big album, as opposed to what it really is.

 

Clarity didn't hit me until this year either

 

i would say clarity, bleed, and futures.
thinking about it now tho, light might be up there, i just don't revisit that album as much as i should.

 

i got into JEW with futures because pain and firestarter were on smallville, though i definitely knew the middle from the radio. clarity is pretty clearly their best imo.

 

Lol I booked them for a spring concert at my school based off knowing stuff from Bleed American and then went back to my dorm and pirated everything they ever put out.

 

I honestly wouldn’t argue with anyone claiming Clarity, Bleed or Futures being their best

 

Or CTL really.
