Who do I have to pay for the evermore Long Pond Sessions?

  3. They could have just called this “piano version” but whatever. I love it obviously.

spicy take time: that should’ve been the ten minute version.

  9. I actually expected the 10 min version to be mostly on piano so I guess I’ll agree.

Long pond session version kinda sucks, sorry Taylor. Whispering the whole thing really takes away the emotion that her dynamic vocals bring in the regular version

It is strange and perhaps unnerving to see so much of a push behind a song that felt like an incredible secret for nearly ten years. Not that I don’t want every person in the world to enjoy it, but to give “All Too Well” the standard “we’re trying to force a number one” treatment feels… I don’t know, crass? I’m oversensitive this week and everyone is just doing their job, but there’s a level of commodification here that feels beyond what this song deserves. I’m almost getting sick of hearing it, which is a bit frustrating and sad.

Also we don’t talk enough about how good of a line “time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it” is.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I like the Long Pond version from 31 year old Taylor as opposed to the other two we got.

Wouldn’t be a chorus.fm thread without the following:

    Original
    Sad Girl Autumn Version
    Taylor’s Version
    10 minute Version

    If you don't, don't

Surely she's got a Long Pond session album coming? She wouldn't go all that way just to record one song right

@seanxwilliams impossible to say. She recorded a lot of folklore & evermore at Long Pond anyway, so it's entirely possible she's working on new music also

yea it’s funny how quickly I’ve noticed the narrative become “widely considered by fans to be her best song.” Maybe it was just properly appreciated all along, the taylor version of getting to college and realizing every half artsy person likes the coens and Wes Anderson too an analogy I’ve used before and surely will time and again

Piano version is dope, personally I won’t complain about the different versions of this song lol

I find the way that artists can force number ones nowadays kind of fascinating. What does that achievement really mean anymore?

I imagine Taylor Swift would some day like to put out a collection of “1’s” ala The Beatles and she would very much like to include what many consider her best song.
