A show that early in the year should have no effect on then playing riot

I was there too! I think 2022 is his year since both the shows here sold out very quickly.

Maybe NIN just doesn't want to play Florida in May. Still leaves them open for Chicago in September

I am pretty convinced that the third headliner is going to be on a slightly lower level than My Chemical Romance and the Misfits. I'm not anticipating they wind up with Green Day, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, or anything else of that ilk. If they could pull that off I'd be super impressed.

I'm honestly not sure who it would wind up being but I'm expecting somebody at the same level as Beck, Weezer, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, etc. Somebody with great name recognition but isn't a stadium act. Maybe a smaller level reunion or "rare get" act (e.g., the Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Not small by any stretch but certainly not arena-level.

What about a Chicago band that has not played Riot before? Disturbed confirmed! (jkjk)

Turnstile doesn't have a Chicago date on their next tour, but my guess is they are more likely playing Pitchfork than Riot again

Seem like the perfect fit for Lolla right now too

Yeah, it's Turnstile's turn to be the token "punk/hardcore/emo/whatever" act on all the bigger festival bills this year.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I think Turnstile's playing some of Lolla's international dates, so I'd call them a lock for that.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are *probably out, playing Radius October 15..

Beach Bunny doesn't have a Chicago date on their next tour, but they played Riot last year.. so again, probably Lolla

I can see them playing Pitchfork too

They only got a 7.0/10 from Pitchfork on their debut, doesn't that disqualify them

LOL. Is that actually a rule? I could actually see Pitchfork doing that too

No, but just go through bands that Pitchfork booked on their festival and their album ratings.. you'll notice a pattern pretty quickly

They’ll have another album before then for a new score.

  22. Ha! They put out a new single recently, so between that and the spring tour I'm sure they'll have an album for a second shot soon enough.

Beach Bunny was easily the most fun band I learned about specifically because of Riot this year, so it'd be great to see them again in the same spot but they'd slot in great at Lolla.

Not sure if anyone was counting on Ween, but it looks like they’re doing two Chicago headline shows in March. I know that would probably put them out of the radius clause and eligible to play in September, but given their sparse touring schedule, I think it’ll be their sole Chicago shows next year

They played Chicago in March & September (North Coast) in 2017, and did the same in Denver for Riot in 2016... def not out, even though I know some of ya'll don't worship the Boognish

    I stand corrected!

In that case: CHOCOLATE & CHEESE ALBUM-PLAY OR I WILL RIOT
