I’ve heard rumors of stadiums for 2023

 

I know a lot of bigger bands with large catalogs who rotate setlists have groupings of songs. So for example you’d have group A be like, 4 or 5 songs with transitions worked in. And then on the night you could just say we’re doing A-G-Q-X and the next night C-E-L-Z or whatever. Totally doable

 

Yeah it would certainly be excellent if she decided to do that, but her stage production is so intricate that you’d have to build and swap in whole new sets of lighting and pyro cues, not to mention things like different choreo and instrument changes. Doesn’t seem feasible in her most recent way of doing stadium level shows.

 

It’s a stressful weekend to be a Swiftie. I don’t know how much more I can handle.

I mean, I know that she loves having big productions, but I feel like she could find a way to build a segment of her set where it was set up a little differently, where it'd be temporily less of what you're describing/what she normally does and more flexible in what songs go there. Like, still big stadium production of a sort, but not the full choreographed extravaganza, before shifting back into that modern Taylor energy, y'know? Something a bit more stripped down, just relative to the Taylor tour norm.

If she loves her tours having all those theatrics too much to build a different kind of stadium show, I obviously respect that, lol. But, her interests and talent and output and fanbase are varied enough that, I think she could do it in a satisfying manner if she wanted.

 

she can easily do a 20 or 30 minute piano/acoustic section where she can mix it up but I don't know if she'd be able to spread it out around the set

she also usually ties tours to albums so who knows what she'll do in this scenario haha

 

If you go with the rep tour, she did an acoustic song rotating every night on the first side stage, and sometimes added an additional rotating song when she brought the piano out for the New Year’s Day/Long Live mash-up.

 

In Philly on rep tour she even did an a cappella version of our song soooo

That's one reason why I really want a tour now, lol, when she has 3 albums that she didn't tour on that by next summer will all be at least two years old, plus not being done with the re-releases yet. It's a very fascinating place in her career where she can do a big, successful tour that's not tied to one particular album cycle.

 

My bf is such a trooper. Making him listen to this with me and he has to pretend to care while I'm like "this song is about Jake Gyllenhaal not coming to her birthday party. He said he'd be there! But he wasn't!" Or "this song is the exact melody of 3oh!3's don't trust me and nobody is talking about it!!!!" And then me absolutely fan-girling over the phoebe bridgers feature
