Well that’s the first and last time I listen to The Last Time (Taylor’s Version). Yikes.

overall just… eh. Only up to Holy Ground now. Sounds like it’s just worth it for the extras.

 

I can definitely see why Message In A Bottle was left off Red but damn I really dig it haha. Major early CRJ vibes.

 

Came here for this and only this comment. The bass is completely buried in the new mix and lacks the character/tone of the original, with the slide up...the bassline made the original song. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this and was immediately frustrated.

and clearly you didn’t read far enough to see my re-quote where I walked back my position. I hadn’t listened to the old one enough to ever even notice the bass tone prior, so I misspoke. I still did back to back listens later and the bass tone is far from inaudible.

 

The more I listen to ATW10, the more I love it. After the initial awkwardness of this song I’ve heard so many times going a different way, the new bits have continued to be conspicuous, but as a feature, not a bug. The whole track just flows so nicely from part to part, in a way that highlights the stream of consciousness nature of the song. Love how it feels like a song that doesn’t need a definitive version, that she could improv live and it’d work every time.

 

100%, easily could have fit on CRJ's Kiss album I think.

 

Listened to WANEGBT in my car just now and the “weeEEEs” sound just fine. People are definitely overreacting to those, I think.

In other news, she does it a lot across the whole album, but in the bridge of “IKYWT”, she does this vocal crack thing that made me laugh out loud. “But you never loved me, or her, or anyone*eh” etc. That “anyone” is so funny. Haha.

 

i dunno man i really loved this. it feels like an upgrade of my favorite of her albums.

Y’know, the re-recorded “22” may not have been kind to the song, but “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” and, too a lesser extent, “I Bet You Think About Me” do a lot to elevate that already very fun song.

Not gonna lie, I reallllllly wanted her to do a rock album after hearing that song for the first time. She clearly went in a better direction after Red, but I have my fingers crossed for a rock album from her one day!

 

The only one's I'll maybe have issues with are 1989 and reputation. The first four I love but the subtle differences don't bother me enough for me to not delete the old ones from my Apple Music.
