I was skeptical about how much I'd enjoy a new version of my favorite 2010s album, but she sounds like a million bucks on the first three songs from this.

Well the ten minute "All Too Well" wasn't what i expected and now I have to rewrite part of a feature I was working on

edit to say: Ronan, Better Man, and Babe don't really feel like the vault to me since we've had them for years, but they're the best in the vault for me

 

It's hilarious how much better her version of "Babe" is than the Sugarland version.

 

I think I have the issue with this that some had with Fearless that I'm so used to the original recordings even the slightest change in the vocals feels off to me.

 

I'm waiting til tonight to listen to the re-recordings, but I'm listening to the OG Red right now since it's been awhile and holy shit "The Last Time" just blew my mind. Everything about that song is beautiful. Stoked to hear that one re-recorded. Hopefully the awesome delay guitars in the bridge are turned up a little bit more cuz that shit's like Explosions in the Sky kinda shit. Whoever in here said that song sucks (Steve?) needs to give it another fair shot.

 

This is generally my issue, too. It's especially noticeable to me on the songs that really feel written from a "younger" perspective (which is really all of Fearless, but also a few songs here, especially the singles).

 

Yo. thank God she isn't releasing the Short film until 7pm tomorrow, so I can be safe on my couch, with blankets and wine....Cause imma cry for 10 minutes straight.

 

I was just thinking about this for Better Man and Babe, haha.

 

The Little Big Town version of “Better Man” is at least still good. The Sugarland version of “Babe” is…not.
