Japandroids doing Celebration Rock would rock

But yes, would love to see that at Riot.

I'm surprised they have never played Riot, not even in Toronto. Although Japandroids is a band that can also play Pitchfork and Lollapalooza, let's see who book them.

    1. Damn this is a solid lineup
    2. Nine Inch Nails headlining makes me wonder if Riot will try to grab them again for next year
    3. Seeing Green Day on this lineup suddenly makes me think Riot getting them some year could actually be a possibility…

If Riot Top 3 is MCR/Misfits/NIN or Green Day, I would be so stoked!

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if NIN ends up trying to make up a lot of the festivals they dropped next year.

  8. I'd be overjoyed to catch a Celebration Rock set but damn it's tough with it being on Friday haha

It makes me feel like Green Day is a possibility, but would the current headliners rule them out based purely on budget? Looking at the drop from Green Day and NIN to My Morning Jacket makes me think they dropped a pretty penny on the first two.

That being said: I see a lot of crossover here! In particular, I feel like we'll see a Japandroids tour next year. Or at least a few high profile festival sets (of which, I'd imagine, Riot will definitely be one).

Man, I would lose it if they had The Misfits and blink-182 with Tom in the same weekend. My two all time favorites.

Is it weird I think Skiba is better than Tom lol

When Blink played with Tom in 2013 it was pretty damn bad.

I don’t think it’s bad, but it’s not Tom. Blink is pure nostalgia for a lot of us

I think we want it just for the sake of Tom being back in the band, if that makes sense?

Because, I mean, let’s face it, Tom honestly hasn’t been that great live in quite some time lol

I also think Matt is better than Tom, but I would be really stoked being Tom playing with Blink again.
Also, after seeing Tom with AVA makes me believe he would do a good job if he comes back to Blink

I do think Tom has been better live this year with AVA than he has been in like 15 years

Cmon, Blink is only Blink with Tom. I love skiba, but it’s a cover band.

Shaky Knees is named after a MMJ song.

Yes. I'm not arguing whether or not they fit the bill; hah. Just that there's a probably a pretty steep drop in cost between them and Green Day/NIN.

Oh yea for sure! I'd say the first 2 are easily north of $750K each.

Tears for Fear & Garbage are out, playing June 16 Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.. always thought Tears for Fear would be a fun mid-day band for Riot, oh well

I wonder if Foxy Shazam's February show in Chicago takes them out for next year?

  24. They've been so erratic the past few years, it's hard to tell.

Buuut I optimistically lean towards thinking the new record & supporting shows increase the likelihood of festival appearances. It doesn't look like they're going to expand the US tour beyond the 8-10 shows currently booked, so maybe they'll do a short UK/Europe run and a handful of fests?

Or maybe they'll just do the February run and hang up the glittery cape once more.

Something interesting to note: Welcome To Rockville have announced all their headliners for 2022 (Foo Fighters, Korn, Kiss, and Guns B Roses). WTR was one of the festivals that NIN was due to play this year but dropped, and I’m kinda surprised that WTR didn’t try to get them for next year

So, I guess this means there’s a strong possibility that Riot won’t/can’t get NIN for next year. But I guess we’ll have to see how it pans out
