I worked with a guy from New York who moved here so he could be closer to "home".

I mean if you have kids, going to Disneyland once a year isn’t really that weird guys.

I’ve only been to Disney World twice in my life but now that I’ve been educated for the first time ever about how bad Disney is as a company thanks to this thread I’ll never go again

I don’t think one person here has said no one should watch Disney movies or go to Disneyland

Do you know how expensive a Disney World trip is? Unless you are very wealthy, a once-a-year cross-state trip is going to mean 90% of families could not afford to go anywhere else that year.

my sister lives in chicago. she has three kids. we flew them down to NC for a visit and then we drove to FL to go to disney bc we could afford to. otherwise, they would never be able to go. there are two disneys in the country, one on each coast. yes, going once a year is a lot. maybe not if you live in Florida or Los Angeles, but that is leaving out the majority of families in the country. the cult of disney is truly wild.

Washed out colors being mistaken for seriousness is one of the worst modern trends.

A cult I’m not a part of, but thanks Phaynes. Just pointing out these Disney adults you were mocking could have children. No need to get snarky.

If you live locally you can hear parents complaining all the time about Disney adults crowding everything, taking Instagram pictures, and generally being a nuisance. They usually have stickers on their car if you miss the Mickey ears on their head.

I was not mocking anyone. I was speaking about specific friends of mine. Again, I know whether or not they have kids lol.

It's forever funny to me that Disney when choosing a location for a European park, they chose Paris. Where the winter and fall temperatures prevent people from going on rides and more importantly the locals have contempt for Disney's brand of American consumerism.

  16. Makes sense, it's probably the most popular European city that people travel to. Outside of London.

yeah it’s a huge hub for tourism. it isn’t that surprising.

  18. If people wanna spend 5k a year to go to Disney then more power to them. I probably spent that much on beer during 2020 lol.

again, no one is saying they can’t do it. spend your money however you want. people are allowed to say it’s odd, though. why does this site have such a weird problem with people criticizing things/voicing a difference in opinion

  20. Just watched The Bling Ring. Not my favorite Sofia Coppola, but I enjoyed it. The performances felt fittingly superficial.

With Marie Antoinette having the love it deserves lately in re-evaluations, the Bling Ring is probably her most underrated

I watched Marie Antoinette for the first time recently and loved it. I don't recall it getting negative reactions when it came out, but I also wasn't really diving into film criticism at that point in my life.
