Just fix Lover the way I did and it’s a top three Taylor album

Alternatively, the Live From Paris performances of Lover are top tier in her discography. Will always regret not going to that when I had free front row seats.

I haven't had enough coffee to explain why this is wrong. Just listen to New Year's Day in the corner and think about what you did.

I read this 9 times to confirm that you did, in fact, leave The Archer off this.

You cut a few I'd keep and kept a few I'd cut, but this is still unquestionably a better album than what we got.

Most overrated song in her discography. I hate the track 5 conceit.

Do you find it overrated only because it's included in the track 5 talk?

I do think it was the perfect album opener though as a 1-2 with Cruel Summer with lyrical content telling a story through-line. It's how my revised playlist of this album starts, haha.

It's probably between Champagne Problems, Dear John, or Enchanted as my "most overrated" take, now that you have me thinking about it.

  11. I feel like "The Archer" doesn't really get talked about enough to warrant "overrated" status (let alone "most overrated song in her discography"...) And even if it did get talked about a lot, it's still one of the better songs on that entire album. Matt is up in the night over here!

No, I think it's a relatively weak, oblique, and dramatically inert song with one of her worst bridges on the album. The way that it got elevated as a super-personal story when songs like "Cornelia Street" and "Soon You'll Get Better" and "Afterglow" exist on the same album surprise me. I'll look at sequencing it as the opener, though "I Forgot That You Existed" is a clear track one for me.

I very much like "Champagne Problems". Great writing. The other two I could never hear again.

For the record, all three of those songs would rank higher for me on the album, haha. So I understand that critique. I really like the vibe The Archer creates. IFTYE isn't my favorite on the album, but it is fun.

I could cut it, just don't have a better choice for an opener. Maybe if "Cruel Summer" had a longer intro.

"The Archer" has 50 million more plays on Spotify than "Death By A Thousand Cuts", which is a real issue for me. I can't pretend it's okay when it's NOT.

I would have loved for her to have released DBATC as a single to both pop and country radio. Second favorite song on the album by a wide margin (first being Cruel Summer).

  18. I will always have beef with Taylor about "Death By A Thousand Cuts".......

She realllllllly should have made a parody video of it called "Death By A Thousand Cats" where she just lays on the floor in a huge room full of cats.

"Dear John" is the most hilarious song Taylor Swift has ever written and is a truly god tier diss track. It deserves the hype!

people who think "enchanted" is overrated are my mortal enemies

  21. “Enchanted” would be better if Owl City’s follow up track didn’t exist…
