yeah i switched to gram parsons over that but it looks cool

 

I honestly miss being subscribed to VMP, just nothing in the past year has interested me enough to pull the trigger

 

yeah i took like 18 months off it bc that but they brought me back about four months ago

 

I have a sweet new setup that I'd been saving money to put towards for literally 3 yrs lol, very excited. had started buying records again in the last month in anticipation of finally getting a good setup again (first time in over 5 yrs) and the new war on drugs just sounds so fucking good on wax man

re the last few pages after being out of the vinyl game for several years i was shocked to walk into an indie shop here and everything is 30-40$. tryna rebuild my collection so i'll probably mostly hit used stores anyway but that's a bummer

 

signing up for VMP literally for the Gram Parsons record. will probably keep it but that's enough to get me on board for now at least

 

discogs is a wonderful service

 

the country tier turns out a+ stuff. if the essential isn’t peaking my interest, i always grab either that or the rap one. i think buck owens is next month

 

yeah I signed up for country because I think on balance I'll be most interested in those. honestly would love to do country + essentials but can't justify that haha

 

@phaynes12 looking through the back catalogue, did you get the ladies and gentlemen repress a few months ago? love buck owens but might swap dec for that before it goes out of stock

If anyone is interested in a copy of the new ETID I had forgot I pre-ordered and now have an extra sealed copy. Its the blue/white marble pressing, 35 shipped.

 

I’ve been wanting to find a copy of this box set for a while now. I have a copy of the purple variant (out of 100) but think that saw blade box set is really cool.

 

heh I have the saw blades but want the purple. I’ve never even listened to it since it’s so cumbersome. But it’s so damn cool. Just checked discogs though and had no idea the purple was worth so much more!

Does anyone have a good lighting set up for their player? I just moved and am putting my record player up on a cube shelf and plan on putting the record itself on the wall above it. Has anyone used strip lights or something similar to make their player look neat in the dark?

 

I don't have any specific lights to recommend, but I encourage you to look at ones that are NOT battery powered. I made that mistake recently and have burned through $ buying batteries because the lights I chose just burn through AAA's very quickly. Do yourself a favor and go for lights you can plug in or lights that run off of a easily rechargeable sources.

 

I just moved to a temporary spot while I transition west and I have no good set up for my player that I can figure. It's only been a few days and I'm already going through withdrawal. Bluetooth is nice, but it just ain't the same!

 

If vinyl production really does get fucked and CDs end up being cool again and they start putting CD players back into cars and computers, I will cry of happiness.
