Ben Shapiro, sadly, is in fact an extremely bright man.

I don't remember who it was (Cody?) but all these right wing grifters are essentially just cosplaying.

Seriously can we just... not talk about that guy?

I want deep conversations about sand worms and spice not to give a second thought to some jackass

Surely there's other planets in the universe with a shit ton of sand; why couldn't the emperor transport some baby worms to other desert planets, to help ramp up spice production? According to official graphics I've seen it's the worms that help generate the spice itself

he'd have to send freemen and they wouldn't want to leave their home planet, that's basically the history of colonialism haha

From what I can tell the sandworms don't need the Fremen for anything; they operate independently of the Fremen. The spice is produced by the sandworm's own doing

It’s actually a reveal that comes later in the book and something that would have been revealed in Part 2 if you hadn’t unfortunately seen it here.

idk how I feel about "spoilers" coming from a decades old book, obv it would have been nice to find out in the movie but also I can't blame anyone for just blurting the shit out.

  20. Please don't let this devolve into a pages-long debate on the validity of spoiler tags again, too many threads get derailed

Had tickets to see this opening weekend in Dolby but caught Covid. Then had tickets to see it in IMAX but then there was a fire at the mall the theater was attached to. Finally got to see it today in a regular old theater but still LOVED it.

I absolutely loved this movie even though I did feel like I had more minor issues with it than I was hearing most people bring up, but I can't stop thinking about it and last night I watched it again for the 4th or 5th time, and I don't remember doing that with any movies in a long, long time.
