Damn there are like 3 huge shows within the two weeks after our daughter's due date lol

 

Honestly go back and forth between UYHS/Jupiter as my favorite Cave In albums all the time. Both slap for different reasons.

 

just accept the fact now that you'll probably go to only 4 to 8 shows a year for 10 years now, and it'll all go easier.

I always felt like PPB was more like a collection of demos

 

Essentially a lot of songs that were meant for a record when they were on RCA.

 

Yeah. At a show in Philly they gave out a CDR (I think I still have it) with a lot of those songs

 

it's less cohesive of a theme but they're fully fledged songs and not demos to me. the world is in your way, off to ruin, trepanning, paranormal and tension in the ranks are incredible songs

Trepanning and Paranormal still rank among their best songs for me. It was also the first Cave In release I ever listened to because I saw the CD at Best Buy at the time and thought, "The other music nerds online love this band. I should buy this."

 

…and those music nerds were right. (For once)

 

It’s a fantastic record but it’s always felt unfinished and cobbled together, especially since a couple of the songs had been readily available for over 2 years before it dropped. But I guess it speaks to the quality of that band that even a collection of demos would beat most bands best work.

 

Yeah. It depends on the source. Y'all don't usually steer me wrong, but some other places (Hint: Reddit) have a more checkered track record.

 

This record is unfinished and trumps (no pun intended) a ton of music.
