My wife and I live in Westchester now, white plains is a really nice area itself and you're a 30 min metro north ride to Penn.

We’d love to move there. How’s the tax structure? Also do you get more land than LI? Heard it’s very similar and based on our jobs it’s hard to justify moving away from LI to a similar COL area, unless I get a job that pays significantly more

My former hometown of Dayton, OH elected a DSA member (Shenise Turner-Sloss) to city council last night, so that’s cool! Both the State & County Dem Party sent out a bunch of racist and redbaiting lit about her.

The democrats just have a lazy voter base. Plain and simple. The republicans have a very motivated voter base. They *always* vote. No matter the issue, candidate or election.

Democrats have to be persuaded by musicians and celebrities and even that is a challenge. They also need to be convinced they're going to die if they don't vote.

Good to know that due to the corruption and white supremacy embedded in the US justice system, it will now be legal and encouraged to murder all skateboarders.

“Dems have a lazy voter base and need to be motivated by celebrity” is a hell of a take when you look at who makes up the Dem voter base. Couldn’t possibly be 20+ years of Dems shitting the bed when they’ve got the ball that had de-motivated people.

Democrats literally don't get anything done lol. Democratic voters are tired of having Lucy pull the ball away from Charlie Brown.

What should happen, as Marx & Rec said yesterday, is that people tired of funneling their energy into the losing, disinterested Democratic Party should instead organize their workplaces, and build power that way.

My extremely hot take is americans in general are too lazy to make significant change to public policy happen via that type of organization. And/or the powers that be themselves are entrenched and enriched enough that even when they do, it doesn't matter. The Iraq war protests, OWS, etc....just seems like there's too much headwinds without also having the right people in charge politically.

Look, if Hillary "pokemon go to the polls" Clinton couldn't win, it's clearly because I'm the lazy one here.

    Clearly.

I don't disagree with either of these comments.

So I guess I'd follow up my 'Dems have a lazy voter base' with...the Dems in general are lazy all around - politicians included.

That said, I'd take a lazy, do-nothing politician over a racist, bigoted, hateful white supremist. It's too bad we can't have anything in between...
