I don’t mind SALT because it’s basically the fed gov subsidizing higher state taxes which those states then use to do generally progressive/good things

Its not actually "Critical Race Theory" they want banned. Its factual reporting of history they want banned because that history makes them uncomfortable.

Correct me if I’m being wrong but isn’t US and world history in public schools basically the School House Rock version of events anyway? Like teaching kids about slavery is a staple in US history curriculum, so now they wanna be uncomfortable with it?

Bernie (and others) is and always has been misinformed on the SALT deduction. It provides relief to a lot of middle class people specifically in higher taxed states. I don’t understand why there is never push to cap the SALT deductions at a higher income level like $200,000 or something. It’s always either keep it or repeal it.

And I know he said he is open to a compromise that protects the middle class in high taxes states, but that shouldn’t be considered a compromise that should be what you are pushing for.

 

People would be shocked to learn what is “acceptable” for facilities to pollute communities with. People think because something has an air permit it’s safe, but actually our laws are set up so that you get an air permit and it allows you to pollute, it doesn’t prevent you from polluting.
