The fact that they're adding HDR to all current PS4s is pretty awesome.

 

Haven't seen the press conference, but the 400 dollar price point is a pleasant price.

 

If it was priced any higher than $400 I wouldn't be sold on it. After seeing the gameplay for Horizon ZD, Mass Effect, and Infinite Warfare I'm pretty pumped. It has a lot of good bells and whistles too, and the fact that we are all getting HDR is pretty damn awesome. Also just realized that it'll support Modern Warfare Remastered. All I could ask for. My body is ready!

Won't see the conference until later, whats new besides HDR (Which I don't buy into as some WOW-factor at all).

$400 for the Pro is very reasonable, the internet hive mind currently throwing little fits about it need to get over it. Like you think the Scorpio is going to be priced much better? Not a cold breeze chance in hell. Then again, people on the internet love to die on the dumbest hills they can find (we're all guilty of this, don't judge me) so they probably won't.

 

If the rumored Scorpio specs are true they'll blow the Pro out of the water if priced similarly.

Scorpio will be priced higher for sure. But it won't be a half-assed attempt either...

There is no way MS would do that. If they did, they could truly hand Sony their ass for the first time in years. That's not how that company works though, as anyone who's ever followed that company and their business practices would know. Calling it now, Scorpio is going to cost between $499 and $799.

 

I think it's pretty likely MS does that, given the lackluster reception to the Pro, selling the Scorpio at a minor loss will increase their market share by insane margins.

We'll have to see. MS has made great strides in the past few years playing catch up after the Xbone launch and it's possible that they could. However, I just feel that they won't.

 

MS took a billion dollar hit to fix Red Ring issue, they are perfectly fine paying the price if they know the end result will benefit them.

I could see Scorpio priced at $499-599, but they could take a hit and knock it to $450 and still have CRAZY win on their hands. We'll see.

 

BC is another sign of their investment. They seem willing, we'll have to see how far they'll go. Maybe they wouldn't have before, but after Pro's reception maybe they smell blood in the water and say fuck it

 

You gotta think beyond Xbox on that, that company is well known for charging high prices for their products. I mean, have you ever had to pay for Office?

I don't see MS selling at a loss tbh. They have a ton of money but the Xbox division is still a pretty big money drain. I'd be surprised if they went loss leader for Scorpio. I could see $499.

 

i got office 365 for a few years for only $80 because of the university discount.
