    Wonder if any other decent teams (Marshall?) from C-USA will go to the Sunbelt

    The rivalry is back on

    a merger of the two remaining leagues makes sense IMO

    or: Western Kentucky + MTSU to MAC

    Marshall + FIU + Old Dominion + UTEP + Louisiana Tech + Southern Miss + Liberty + Army to Sun Belt/CUSA merger

    I’d be fine with swapping Marshall and MTSU, but I’m not sure if Marshall would want to go back to MAC

    Marshall should be in the MAC.

    some of my earliest memories of college football are of Marshall beating Western Michigan in title games with Chad Pennington so fuck Marshall forever.

    The MAC makes sense geographically for Marshall, but I think the Sunbelt makes more sense culturally for them.

    Or if we want to do the whole “let’s pretend geography doesn’t exist, we just want money” thing and we’re assuming CUSA is marginally better than Sun Belt or MAC, we can do:

    To CUSA: Central Michigan, Miami OH, Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, UMass, App State

    To Sun Belt: Liberty, Army

    To MAC: coax two or three of the big Missouri Valley teams to make the jump to D1, like NDSU, SDSU, and/or Southern Illinois

    I'm kinda shocked at the teams the aac chose/got

    They obviously cared about markets, instead of quality. I mean...Rice? Rice over western Kentucky, middle Tennessee, la tech and Marshall? Gtfo.

    I'm surprised at north Texas too considering smu is still in the conference

    Honestly, the aac didn't get a whole lot better with these adds. Some sort of merger made a hell of a lot more sense

    Rice, north Texas, smu, utsa, Tulane, temple, fau, South Florida, navy, Memphis, ecu, Charlotte

    That kinda sucks

    Game day. Nervous about App State after their last game, but I think they could take down the mullet team tonight.

    Either they fold or they get some combination of Liberty, UConn, UMass, James Madison, and another FCS school?

    Srsly tho, these are the schools left :teethsmile:
    • Old Dominion
    • Western Kentucky
    • MTSU
    • FIU
    • UTEP
    • Louisiana Tech

    I could see Western Kentucky and MTSU getting invites from the MAC due to geography.

    FIU/ODU -> ACC
    WKU/MTSU -> MAC
    UTEP -> MWC
    LT -> Big 12

    Looks like ODU might be added to the Sunbelt... the rest of those are good, though I don't see Big 12 taking Louisiana Tech as realistic.

    Send liberty to the Big East. That’s where they belong.

    Wow I mentioned this earlier, obviously money and markets or whatever must speak.

    Why doesn't anyone want la tech, western Kentucky, and Middle Tennessee?

    Those programs are so much more consistent then these other teams making moves

    I'm doing this for myself to keep up

    Aac (12);
    Div west; north Texas, smu, rice, utsa, tulsa, Tulane
    Div east; temple, navy, south Florida, Charlotte, east Carolina, Memphis

    Sun belt (14)
    Div west; Texas state, Monroe, Louisiana, troy, South Alabama, Arkansas state, southern miss

    Div east; Georgia st, georgia southern, coastal, Appalachian state, Marshall
    (I can see why they wanna add 2 teams geographically more east... so 2/3 of James Madison, liberty, old dominion makes a ton of sense)

    CUSA/ left overs (7)
    - western Kentucky, middle Tennessee, fiu, la tech, utep. Either jmu or liberty

    Mac have 12, mwc have 12.
    Mwc could add utep but then? It would have to be an fcs school.

    I think fiu is screwed
