Hitting coach and 3rd base coach were def more important to address but you can easily first guess Boone enough over the year on lineups and bullpen decisions as the difference between a division and a road wild card. His instincts are terrible and he flat out punts on way too many close games.

A lot of people underachieved though and that's probably not his fault? Unless people are just too lackadaisical playing for him. We'll see I guess lol. The bullpen at least was really good by the end of the year, keep that together and it should be mostly Boone proof next year.

 

you watch day-in and day-out, but i was kind of amazed at him being 3rd with all the injuries the yanks have had throughout his tenure.

 

yeah i mean, i don't even watch the Yankees as consistently as some others in this thread but, i think it's much easier to look at it broadly and think why does Boone get a bad rap? But you watch the day in day out managerial moves he makes and more importantly doesnt make, and it becomes quite clear he continuously seems to lose his grasp of the ballgame. the yankees have been a very good team talent wise and have won a shit ton of games despite Boone.

 

if there are philosophical differences, get rid of his ass!

 

i could see it both ways. i mean the yankees FO will make them good no matter who is managing.
and if they think the manager isn't utilizing the team to max potential, then why not.

 

just bought the complete ‘07 topps set, always liked those as a kid so i’m v happy with it
