Have you watched the other Halloweens? It’s definitely worth a watch and I enjoyed it.

Sleepaway Camp was nuts, and hilarious. Yeah that ending would NOT fly today lol. So problematic.

    Onto 2!

I mean, in a way, it’s not like the ending is bad because of any dialogue or reactions, which I was actually surprised by. The only thing is a factual statement one of the counselors says and that’s that. They don’t linger on the shot, they don’t make fun of the character. I actually thought it was going to be much worse (like a crowd of campers pointing and laughing or something) but there is the reveal, scary face, weird night vision colors lol and then end of movie.

after watching it I did some very brief researching it and there seems to be a few people who have written papers on what the character symbolizes and whatnot which is interesting.

Yeah I actually was just reading a good analysis by a trans writer for bloody disgusting. The movie is totally not making fun of them being trans, but like this writer says it’s just unfortunate the representation isn’t there. Though to the same writer’s point, the violence is meant to possibly stem from Peter/Angela being forced to be female.

Which Urban Legend. Love the first 2 a whole lot, feel like they are super underrated!

I Know... and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer are both still a lot of fun. Haven't watched either of these in years and just had a really good time with them.

I've never actually seen the 3rd movie. Kind of scared to ruin the streak.

Thought VHS94 was great. Thoroughly enjoyed all the segments and the connective tissue didn't try to be more than it needed to be. I found Simon Barrett's funeral home piece to be effectively creepy af.

  22. Just rewatched xx. Since I already knew what was going to happen, I was more attuned to the emotional center of each segment this time around. Interestingly, the first time I watched Annie Clark's part I found it so absurd and kind of funny, but this time I just found it sad. Karyn Kusama's part is still my least favorite, but I think I've grown to appreciate it more now as like a family drama. What's still probably the most fascinating about this anthology is that even though the stories have nothing to do with each other, through the simple virtue of being written and directed by women, the stories inadvertently found a lot of common ground thematically. I really enjoyed the DVD bonus features: behind the scenes looks and interviews with the directors.

Okay the new Slumber Party Massacre is an absolute blast. Was not expecting any direction it went in, but really enjoyed myself the whole time.

I know Possession (1981) is a horror staple, but has anyone seen andrzej żuławski's other work? Been itching to watch The Devil.

I love a lot of his films, they're almost always interesting and full of the wild energy Possession has. I think that's his best but The Devil is fantastic and On the Silver Glove is one of the most interesting and unique things I've ever seen, especially visually.
