I fully expected to hate this. I hated the intro. And the ending. Song isn't bad though. Can't say I love, it but I can see why people do. Also listened to "Many Of Horror" on Spotify (26MM listens?! Jesus). It's pretty generic but also not terrible.

Lol yeah I'm probably on the younger side of the BN fandom. By the time I discovered TDAG it was already 5 years old.

 

Anyone wanna speculate on the tracklisting of their next release (whatever/whenver that is)? I don't think it'll be an LP, probably an EP

And then we never hear from BN again.

 

I'm thinking 11 songs. I think that Nightmare and Sealed to Me will be the only songs we have heard on it. I don't think Mene will be on it

 

I'd say there's also a possibility all of the tracks are brand new. Maybe just release Sealed to Me as a separate single if at all.

 

I think that sealed to me will be the final song on the record and the bands swan song. I know people are mixed about it but to me its the song I always wanted Brand New to write

Everyone seems hyped on sealed to me based on the live versions. Really hope the album version lives up to it

I wish the single or something leaked on Amazon like what happened with IAAN. As much as I want to believe The part 1 with part 2 to follow theory I can't help but be extremely skeptical at this point. It's Brand New we're talking about here. Unbelievable to think we are coming up on 7 years since Daisy was released

 

Maybe they didn't like the public reaction to IAAN and so they redid chunks of the album?

 

I don't think they've ever played to the audience's expectations.

 

yea that would seem strange to me. You didn't like it so we are redoing it... also I think a lot of their casual fans liked the song. I know I have friends that really enjoyed it as a single, and put it on playlists

 

The info report from January says "confirmed record releases for 2016: Brand New," and then the one from May says "imminent release of single from forthcoming Brand New LP," and then says "Additional song from aforementioned album scheduled for release, summer 2016."

So they call it a record, an album, and an LP, and have told us we will get it this year.

 

This, dude. I get it...but rgh, is it frustrating.

Is it possible that one or more of the reworked demos is the song they're talking about?

Like it doesn't have to be a single and if we don't get one in the coming weeks id bet one of them is on the "forthcoming lp"

 

Anyone else think Nobody Moves will be on the record? Seems weird that they have a newly recorded version and didn't release it on the reworked ep with the others

 

They definitely balance generic and a little weird throughout their discography. Go for older stuff if you want more intricate, weird stuff, and towards the more recent for generic stuff; that is if you want to listen to more.

 

I've been thinking this for a while, or at least hoping for it. It's the only one that hasn't been "officially" released in some new form (well, that and Good Man I guess, but that one always felt especially complete).

 

Depends if you count the cassette rerecording as an official release. My gut says that's Brand New's way of getting it out there in a neat little easter egg for fans and leaving it as a rarity.

 

God, I hope not. Even Out Of Range got a proper release in the end, and didn't that leak via Thrice's forums or something? Nobody Moves is way too good a song to leave as just an easter egg... but only time will tell, I suppose! I wouldn't doubt it, but I am hoping for something different.

 

I got the cassette and it had the original version on both the actual cassette and the digital download. Seems to me like it was released by accident
