My expectations went out the window with 2018, and this definitely looks to continue the trend of BRUTALITY (which seems to be a gross misunderstanding of what makes Michael Myers effective in the first place), but…

If I get to hear some awesome variations/reprisals of “The Shape Hunts Allyson” when I’m in the theater tonight, I will go home happy.

From what I could hear, it plays once. Would've liked to hear it more, but when it does play, it hits fairly well.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

this was legitimately like a parody of a sequel to 18 and not an actual sequel. some fucking baffling stuff

she stabbed him with a pitchfork! literally! do you guys get the message yet?

When Judy Greer comforts her daughter about her dad dying, saying something like “He may not be here, but he’s all around us.” I feel like the screenwriters forgot how actual people talk.

Honestly. The entire script is rough.

I'm half way through the movie and I'm not sure I even want to finish.

I was excited to delve into the community of Haddonfield and meet the locals. It's a great concept to widen the scope of "Halloween." But DGG and Danny McBride write them like they're aliens repeating lines from an algorithm that watched CBS procedurals. And they're all dumb as hell. It's so disappointing.

Its so wild how bad the decisions these people make are. The gay couple was fucking wild. Oh, there is someone covered in blood in the house? better lock them in with us!

the 2018 script was ludicrous, too.

a number of the mob scenes had a real south park energy to em as well

It honestly was just a parody - it can’t be real. They are trolling us.

Insulting that Judy Greer goes out like that - unless she's just like horribly injured.

Halloween ‘18 was better, easily. Knowing that McBride and DGG originally had an idea for a film (2018) and a sequel leads me to think the “sequel” they had in mind was Ends but blumhouse was probably like “nah, 2018 made $250 million. We need a trilogy instead of just 2 films”, thus Kills was made. It feels like something that exists just to get us to Ends.

    That said, things I liked:
    - Michael going full “apex predator”
    - Allyson, Karen and Cameron
    - Flashbacks to 1978
    - The score

    Things I didn’t like:
    - The inconsistent tone
    - Way too much focus on red shirts in Haddonfield. The movie was better when it focused on the big 3 (Allyson, Karen and Laurie)
    - The entire hospital arc
    - Too much slaughter. Even though I liked Michael being pissed off, I feel like Halloween works better when the kill count isn’t too high and the suspense is heavier than the blood count.

Hopefully Halloween Ends focuses more on the suspense and atmosphere of 2018 and less on the high kill count and low IQ Haddonfield residents.

She can’t just cut his head off again in ends, so she has to….blow him up? Haha

I’m puzzled by how the time jump will be explained. Did Michael get his ass beat so bad that he just hides for four years?
