If the Braves lose, I’m officially out until spring training. I will not give attention to a Dodgers VS Red Sox/Astros WS, don’t care how good it is. Like if an asteroid hit the stadium Game 1 or a super variant of Delta shuts down the whole thing, then I’ll know that the universe agrees with me that too much evil polluting the earth cannot exist.

I mean, a NLDS between two long time division rivals ending on that is a bit of a bummer imo.

 

Here's my point: I think there's a good argument here against umps in general as a concept, but I don't think there's a great one against that individual ump, who was put in a tough position and did what he probably thought he was supposed to do

 

Yeah the tying run was on base and flores was the winning run. Its not like the dodgers were up 8-1 with 2 outs in the 9th. i’m fine calling it egregious.

Can Boston Dynamics format a few of those dancing robots to be umpires? It just might be time for it.

 

A bummer for sure but that doesn't mean it's automatically wrong

 

i'm not saying don't call a strike down the middle. i'm saying don't call an out on a play where the success rate of the umpire is known to be questionable. the umps get that call wrong too often to let it be a deciding factor. you gotta hold yourself there.

 

The check swing rule isn't supposed to depend on how many runners are on base or what the score is

I mean fair enough but I think asking them to decide whether someone swung or not and whether or not they should even decide whether someone swung or not is too much. Take it out of the hands of the umps at that point and make it reviewable only

Bad call. Sure. Some sort of bad call that taints the Dodgers win or the series....no way . I don't see it that way
