Damn, this is a total banger, this band don’t miss!

 

I like DSOB but I definitely don’t visit it as much as Laugh Tracks, DSOB just didn’t have that same spark if that makes sense.

 

I think both albums have real assbeaters but I don't love either as a whole. Seeing all the positive feedback has me really excited.

 

This is cool but hasnt really fixed my issues with the last two releases. Kind of feels like a less creative/ dynamic I Am King sometimes.

 

I kinda hate Will Putney’s production but musically I dig it, and paired with the short film it’s very sick

Surprised I'm seeing some negative retrospectives on A Different Shade of Blue, whole album still holds up for me

 

I think my biggest complaint about Knocked Loose's sound as a whole historically is that it's almost kind of too heavy...this new EP gives the songs a bit more room to breathe IMO. That said, there are just releases that I like more this year that probably preclude it from my top 25-ish?

Kinda want to see what these guys would do with a different producer ala a Taylor Young or Kurt Ballou though. That might be what finally pushes them over the edge for me.

 

Yeah, Kurt could do some good work with those dudes imo

Yep. I toured with him way back in 2013 and we’ve kept up since. I’m glad he is with this band because he is full of passion for this stuff. His recent Instagram post is inspiring as well.

I think this is where I’m at exactly. The songwriting has gotten so much better since Laugh Tracks, but someone like Ballou or Young would make them sound much better. I don’t know if overly digitized or overly compressed is the right way to put it, but that’s what the production feels like to me. I hate the way the guitars sound in particular.

One listen and this seems even heavier than A Different Shade. Like, oppressively so. But, I love that. Stank face engage. I thought "Blue" was prenominal. Start to finish great tracks. Laugh Tracks to me had only 5 really good tracks, the rest were decent to me.

The artwork fits perfect with spooky October. Gotta watch the film here soon.
