my fave k-drama is Birth of a Beauty, Start Up (on Netflix) is good, also Good Doctor (just like the American show), Emergency couple. I can’t think of the top of my head rn some of the others I liked.

Yeah I think I posted the trailer to Squid Game about a week before it premiered (it was a random suggestion on Youtube), and then watched the first four episodes that Friday night, and then finished the rest the next day. Crazy how fast it's blown up since then

 

Ferrari was definitely the earliest. I saw you post about it a few days before it dropped and everyone was like "WTF is this?!?!"

 

Surprised this is chilling at only 3 pages since this is the most watched show in Netflix history.

 

Those stats have got to be mostly outside of the US

This is the one thing I truly didn't like about the show

 

Yeah, the VIP dialogue definitely needed some punching up.

 

Felt like myself doing a cheesy impression of a rich person.

 

My sister who watches a lot of Kdramas said the VIP scene was typical of how Americans are portrayed in Korean shows.

 

Lol this makes much more sense now

 

I thought the dialogue fit the VIPs. They’re meant to be caricatures.

 

Yeah knowing this was a South Korea-made show, it didn't seem out of the ordinary for the English dialogue of the VIP's to sound wonky. I was just like "ehhh whatever, means to an end"

 

Americans in Kdramas can’t act! It always sounds horrible.
