I'm excited for Alexis' new solo album (and of course more Daughters).

 

Got into this band over quarantine and this album is good

His past is no secret, the dude was an alcoholic and horrible piece of shit for a long time. He seemed to really make an effort to get clean and go to therapy, so I was hopeful. But this seems like a recent thing, which fucking sucks.

It was also in Providence that Hayter was abused by a partner — an experience that was personally traumatic and isolating and threatened the social order of her artistic community. "I ended up speaking out about my ex-partner who was kind of the most revered noise musician in Providence. It was a real struggle to be heard or to be accurately heard," she says. As a result, Hayter returned to San Diego. "I just could not deal with the invalidation or the fact that people who I thought were my friends did not believe me and that somebody who was my partner, who I trusted, turned against me and tried to make himself into the victim in this very strange way." She says that now she has little faith in community and tries to stay self-reliant.

Alexis is more than likely an abuser but I don't think this particular bit is about him, they were posting pictures together as recently as last year

 

Yeah, I think that was before. She was also worked on his solo record which was recorded in late 2019/early 2020

 

My bad, I thought the whole "most prominent noise musician in Providence" was pretty cut and dry.

 

Looks like Black Dice and Lightning Bolt are from Providence. Had no idea there was such a big noise scene coming out of RI.
