I know people roll their eyes at these kinds of statements about any band that it applies to but personally I almost always agree

 

I would say U2 gets a lot of hate (not from me) because they're kind of corny, but then again so many big bands are kind of corny, but then again so many big bands get a lot of hate, so I might have cracked the code

 

bono certainly doesn’t help himself/the band but y’all obsess about plenty of bands on this site that are much more annoying lol

 

i started liking some u2 just a couple years ago

 

i refuse to be criticized by someone with such a terrible opinion on Fleetwood Mac

 

a band for people with yachts, sorry you’re not a man of the people carpet

I will say, the singles on Achtung Baby are among my least favorite songs on that record, other than "One" which is amazing. I feel like you'd be a lot more enthused with, like, "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" and "Ultraviolet."

1. Fleetwood Mac are not yacht rock.
2. The term yacht rock is stupid and ahistorical and I really fuckin’ hate it.
3. Yacht rock is great.

 

Them being corny is why they're good, same as Coldplay and The Killers
