I think David and Katie's voices are fine and fit the music well for the most part, but they sound fantastic harmonizing with each other. Yes, I just got to *that* part in Fewer Afraid.

had to check myself half way through blank // worker to make sure i wasn't listening to tim kasher / a cursive song. the vocal similarity is uncanny (to me)

side note: who would have thought that transcribing an hour long interview while also trying to pack and move and have a baby would be stressful? not me the dumbest boy in school!

I agree, the vocals are what has always kept me from loving this band. I do think he sounds better on here though and the music is fantastic so hopefully his vocals will grow on me. Katie's vocals are great though, she definitely helps when they're layered over each other.

I kind of equate this to Ben and Tigers Jaw, where I do think he's improved over time, but I also think I'm just getting more used to the vocals. Pretty apt comparison also because I feel like Katie/Brianna play pretty similar roles in both bands, and both are at their best when they're trading off/harmonizing vocals.

Yeah - after multiple listens I'm probably going to break this up into two parts when I go back (often) to it, those first 9 and then the last 2. Outside of work I just rarely have the time to listen to 70 minutes in one go but I think that way works great

Strong Jimmy Eat World vibes from "Infinite Josh" and I fucking love it.

    beautiful and chequered, the end

I could be wrong but its also the singer of for Everest doing a bunch of the vocals on this, specifically, fewer afraid.

I will say the two closings songs caught me off guard a little. I thought they might lean fully into the prog/heavy side of things, but they are definitely the two most emo/indie leaning songs of the album.

Is this vinyl delayed? I see the CD listed on my local shop's website but not the record.

  18. I think on the band website the vinyl has a december release date

Outside of the two closing songs, I think Died in the Prison of the Holy Office is my favorite after a few listens. Love the build, first part into second part feels very Rage Against the Dying of the Light/Ra Patera Dance, and the Katamari Duquette reference at the end is *chefs kiss*

Dissociate. Root-bound, in place. Try to relocate. You’re not made of your surrounding space. The container doesn’t matter when state of matter changes day to day. A graft on your cerebrum, a patchwork of formless juncture. Dissociate. Root-bound in place. Tongue of wet clay, only keeping shape by the pressure of bruxism’s face. You will never…

This part is so good, and also very APC.

Didn't realize Chris produced Downhaul too, the way this guy produces indie emo stuff is exactly how I want this genre to sound.

Chris also produced Posture & The Grizzly's I Am Satan, one of the most underrated records around these parts.
