Yeah now I’m in a Hellraiser mood. It’s been so long (watched it as a kid) that I’m not sure if I’ve even seen the whole thing and legit remember absolutely nothing about the story or any characters besides Pinhead, so counting it as a first time watch

Resident Evil is coming way sooner than I thought.

 

rewatched the original Hellraiser the other day and it's a really cool film, lots of fun effects.

 

I believe there are Joe Bob versions of the first two on Shudder if they're still available

 

The only bad thing about this casting is if I have to watch all those shitty sequels to get caught up

Just finished it, about as expected. Tbh I thought it was too short, didn't really even get to know most of the characters

Watching Mad God and I don’t think I’m coming out of this one the same.

 

From what I've seen, it's a reboot. I doubt the sequels are necessary viewing for it.

Tonight I'm going with Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Over the years, I have come to enjoy the sequel more, so I want to give it another watch tonight.

Did a wild card tonight with The Village, which I don’t think I’ve seen since the theatre in 2004. Honestly? The twist is great and I think more poignant today than it was 17 years ago.

 

For anyone who has the stomach for really nightmarish, horrific, and often crude imagery, and patience for over an hour of ambient music with abrasive sounds, watch Mad God. What an incredible work of art, but be warned that it’s relentlessly bleak and oppressive. It’s like if Alice and Eraserhead existed in the Hellraiser universe, but somehow even more unsettling. Possibly the best stop motion I’ve ever seen.

 

Is this streaming anywhere or on VOD?

 

I don’t believe it is available yet. It had a paid stream this past week, I believe, but it is not available to rewatch. I pirated it. (And now desperately need a physical copy.) I can invite you to my Plex if you want to watch it.

Is it any different than the 3 parter that came out in 2019 or so? Or is this an all new edit or something?

 

I had to look it up, but according to Nerdist.com, “Eventually, he released three short pieces of Mad God. These shorts encompass about half of the finished film.”
