I guess I'm one of the few people who genuinely enjoyed spending the many hours in AC Valhalla and Odyssey's worlds and almost would have welcomed more content, however I'm also a person who genuinely doesn't feel the need to play games to the finish and certainly not to 100% completion, and tend to put them down when I finally grow tired of the experience.

That said, I do agree that there are too many games out there at the moment that just seem insurmountably large and too few that can be knocked over in a tight 10-15 hours.

 

As a completionist they don’t bother me but I can definitely see how they they can be unappealing for many.

 

Enormous open world can definitely be annoying and is not a sell for me either way. Far Cry is dope though

 

Played a couple hours of Valhalla and have had zero desire to go back. Giant open worlds like that have lost its luster for me, and are too repetitive.

 

I personally break the games up and don’t beat them in one sitting. I also do a lot of the side missions and it makes it far more enjoyable.
