Moving to Austin i desperately miss New York sports radio but I'm reminded that before I left the quality of wfan was at rock bottom.

No more Evan and joe...no more Francesca... no more JJ...no more Tony Paige

Austin sports radio isn't bad but they don't do ANY callers. I hate that.

Listening to callers is by far the worst part of any sports talk show.

Totally disagree. Hearing a host ramble for hours without any ability to retort is just a waste.

At the very minimum you get the flavor of the city. Theres nothing more new York than hearing new yorkers with their heavy accents complain about how Dolan has to go.

In theory, I like the idea of a 3 game WC series, but you just can't do it without making the regular season shorter. Having (2) 3-game WC series effectively adds another week to the post season. You cannot risk having G7 of a world series played in a north east city 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, and conversely, you cannot start the regular season the week after St Patrick's Day. Cold is cold and nobody is adding domes to their stadiums.

 

i was also more in favor of the 3-game WC series if they were keeping the expanded playoffs, which theyre not, so just leave it at 1 game.

 

Now as the man who despises any playoff expansion talk i will say I've grown on the concept of 12. Mostly because it adds incentive to win, even if the division is locked up. So a team liBut if you did that then I would say best of 3 would be necessary (all games at better record home of course).

Also while I love the 1 game playoff a lot. Being able to unload all of your starters is so unlike typical baseball that it's a bit silly.

Playoffs start the Saturday after regular season.

 

For 12 team postseason, is it top two from each division or division winners + three wild cards per league

how funny would it be if the 80-82 Cleveland Guardians made the postseason but either Yankees or Red Sox missed out despite going 92-70

 

How about a WC series and they whittle down the regular season by a couple months?

 

I like the one game wildcard. Win more games if you don't want to play in it.

 

idk about months, but i wouldn't necessarily be opposed to a 155 game season where you effectively get an entire week back to have 'Wild Card Week', but, i just don't see a shorter season happening at all.

 

this is basically where i am mostly at. every baseball team has at least 4-5 dumbdumb loses that could have made or broken their shot at avoiding the WC game. do better.
