The Scream Factory edition is must own.

F13: New Blood for me tonight. I haven’t had internet since moving, so I’m relying on what is on my bookshelf.

My work computer died yesterday morning so I’ve been off waiting for them to mail me a new one. After finishing midnight mass for the second time, I watched the first two nightmare on elm street movies yesterday and started the third today. Honestly, the first one is my least favorite so far.

going to watch malignant before it leaves hbo max but I’m not sure what else to watch this month. I feel like I’ve seen all the classics and don’t feel like rewatching anything this year (I’m getting married in a few weeks so I’m not really in the mood for horror, but I’m still going to check out some films I’ve never seen before.) Any good horror movies that i probably haven’t seen? I can’t really stomach movies like martyrs or anything like that anymore.

  4. Did The Burning tonight for a podcast I'm on tomorrow. Aside from the raft scene and a couple of other surprise kills, it feels pretty slow and anonymous compared to other slashers from the period. The Weinstein stuff doesn't help, of course.

have you seen Horror of Dracula or The Curse of Frankenstein, both on HBO Max? Two great classic horror movies that are perfect for this time of year

We did Ginger Snaps last night and I just don't remember it having so much DCOM energy. A true year 2000 film for sure.

V/H/S/94 was fucking awesome. Third segment gave me big Heisenberg's factory vibes from Resident Evil Village

I don't remember, is there any continuity to that series? Don't wanna have to rewatch the whole thing

Don’t think there is but I could be wrong. Been a few years since I’ve seen the others

If memory serves me correct (and I'm not feeling well served right now), there wasn't even really a connecting thread between the first three. If there was, it was very minimal and probably inconsequential. I think these movies are meant to be able to exist on their own.

That's good to know. I was thinking maybe the wraparound had some kind of continuity

it feels like the kind of series that may come back around on itself like Paranormal Activity did. Idk why I think that or get that feeling, maybe because it would be super easy to do? Seems like something that happens a lot the more a series continues on.

  23. Yeah, no connective tissue between the VHS movies whatsoever (unless there's something in the new one, which would be odd). Just standalone found footage anthology films.
