How are Phantasm 3-5? Is this one of those series that goes downhill as the sequels go on?

They're pretty bad but it's the kind of thing where they're so weird and clearly one person's vision that it's worth seeing through to the end

Rewatched Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 for the first time in years and it instantly became a top ten horror film. Definitely wasn’t paying attention to it the first time I saw it. SO grotesque and so darkly comic, and also just very weird in the best way. Fuck yeah.

  9. Yeah Phantasm 3 and 4 are pretty bad but have their moments, they're worth watching at least once from a curiosity standpoint (I recommend the Last Drive In versions). Ravager is unbelievably bad though.

I just watched this. I fucking love this movie. It’s such a different vibe, but holy hell is if fun. Every actor in this played their roles perfectly.

Is TCM2 the one that starts with the highway bridge chase with Leatherface swinging his chainsaw around and into vehicles? Been so long since I’ve watched it I should make sure I get to it this month

I watched Tales of Halloween (Shudder, Prime, Tubi) last night. Was a fun anthology. Second stories was pretty bonkers though with the kid and the cops lol

It was Tobe’s big fuck you to the people who trashed the original and it forever rules.

  16. Idk how to articulate how I feel about It Follows except to say y'all weren't kidding about how good it is. So unsettling. Manages to accomplish so much with so little.

Ouija is my least favorite Flanagan by a pretty wide margin, it's by far the least characteristic of his work. Very flashy, with little substance. Kind of hilarious that Michael Bay and Jason Blum were two of the producers. The moments that at least tried to be poignant were very much at odds with the rest of the film.

It Follows is one of the most underrated horror movies of the past couple decades and I mean that. Great premise, solid execution, and that score, hoo boy that score. Music and sound design is so crucial to a horror movie and that one nails it is the score department, few scores fill you with as much dread and anxiety like the It Follows score does. It’s honestly a top five horror score imo.

Love It Follows, was planning to revisit it this month. So glad I was able to grab the OST on vinyl back around when it came out

I own the BD Steelbook of it speaking of and it’s one of my favorites in terms of packaging in my collection.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

This scene has ALWAYS terrified me. From a technical aspect, it’s very goofy but for some reason it’s always made me uneasy. Maybe it’s the two guys screaming “what the fuck is that!” because you, as a viewer, also don’t quite know what you’re looking at at first.

I love Halloween 3. It really got whacked with a lot of controversy initially but I'm glad it's found a following now.

SotW's poster is so iconic. I'd be down for this one to get the remake treatment at some point.
