It being Sakurai himself is the one thing that I think nobody would be disappointed by

 

i dont think that tweet was supposed to be a clue or imply that its not any particular character. i just read it as him directly addressing the inevitable toxic discussion that will follow when people find out the character they wanted wont be making into this smash game in hopes that people will take the reveal in stride if it happens to be someone they didnt want.

 

I don't think anyone is under the impression that it was a deliberate clue, it's just that you wouldn't describe a universally-known character that way imo. So it was an unintentional clue, if anything.

I'm personally saying I think it takes Sora/Master Chief out of the running because they are very well-known characters. That's just my own guess, I'm not saying Sakurai is saying that.

I confess I've only played Smash once on someone else's Switch.

I mean, I knew about the customizable Miis, cause of the costumes, but I didn't know it was a full blown creator.

 

I love smash but the OG smash on N64 is my fav for nostalgia because my friends would actually get together and play for hours. Now we are in our 30s and have no time for that and it's less fun (imo) when you all aren't together anyway.

 

If someone isn’t calling me a “cheeser” because they keep losing, where’s the fun in that?

 

I like that Sakurai said that even if you don't play Smash then you should still watch it. Hopefully this ups the chances of it being a gaming icon that even non smash players would know.

 

I actually hate Smash I'm horrible at it and every time I play it's against people are on some MLG shit but if it's Cool Spot I'll maybe buy it.

 

I cant wait for the internet to collectively get butt hurt tomorrow when this androgynous king is announced as the last DLC character

 

honestly I just hope its the SMT 5 protag because itll shut up the persona 5 on switch fans and theyll finally play an atlus rpg
