  1. The absence of “Automatic” is gonna ruffle some feathers. And no “Mercenaries” either? What are these guys even doing?!

Mercenaries would be a good opener, it's got a good spacey intro they could drag out and then it's just all fire after that.

I would've been pretty disappointed by the setlist. Very by the book and its kinda wild how they front loaded the set with the new songs like that. The warmup show at Garnlywood for lollapalooza was way better.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I'd be thrilled to get "Tunnels" lmao

I am honestly shocked they didn't play Losing My Mind. I understand not playing Automatic right now, but damn....no Losing My Mind?!

Cool that they play two of the three good songs from WDNTW, War and Start The Machine. Open with Valkyrie Missile and that would cover that album

Gonna really try to go the next three weeks without looking at the set list

The Adventure live is always special. The crowd just singing the whole “I cannot live” part is a special moment in the show. At least the last time I saw them it was.

Tom DeLonge: My life in 10 songs — Kerrang!

“At this time, I’m getting really deep into UFOs and it’s even coming into my songwriting. I remember my bandmates and friends were like, ‘Stop talking about this stuff!’ so it’s funny how it comes full-circle where all this stuff is starting to come out and people are now celebrating the song like I’m a conspiracy prophet or something. I can’t really talk about it, but beyond the bits about me, there’s something very important in this song. If you find what it is, it will solve every problem in the world (laughs).”

Looking at the lyrics and I can't figure it out haha, possibly the twelve majestic lies line? Who has theories?!

Debuting at #35 with 15k sold.

I honestly thought it would've done way better, but it's still a better debut than The Dream Walker and Love 1&2.

Actually drove around enjoying an AVA album in the car. Such a foreign concept to me

definitely a great AvA album, but man these lyrics are mostly so bad. Spellbound being the outlier, some of those lyrics are fucking great “an enemy having bad intentions, like Halloween as an intervention” is killer. like half of the songs on here I could do without and the other half is the best shit he’s done in a long time

I don't get why everyone shits on No More Guns, that song is fun as hell

No More Guns is my least favorite on the album. I don't know if its bad but it sounds like a cover of what would be a green days song with cringe lyrics. Like, I love the attempt at talking about gun control but the execution is meh.

  20. Totally agree. The lyrics land very clunky, and the music itself feels paint by numbers public domain Ramones. It makes it stand out amongst the clear highs on the album.

Yeah the fact that it is so different to the whole vibe of Lifeforms is a large reason of why it's not my favorite. I think it took only 2 or 3 full album listens for me to begin skipping it which is surprising.

    Spellbound
    Automatic
    Fire In A Nameless Town
    Restless Souls
    Losing My Mind
    Timebomb
    Kiss and Tell
    Euphoria
    No More Guns
    Rebel Girl

Timebomb is the song where I just don't love the melodies. Still very good. I like Restless Souls a lot more than when I first heard it. I know some people held against it that it sounds a lot like another AVA song but I'm not tied to whichever song that is. I thought the fake Green Day song would be last but I forgot how much I hate the Rebel Girl chorus.

I'm actually having a really hard time picking favorites for this. I kind of feel like No More Guns is the only one I wouldn't consider top-tier Tom. And even that I enjoy quite a bit.
