inquisition is done. well, mostly. i didnt do all that much of frostback basin but i did the deep roads. and of course trespasser which i didnt do the first time i played it. long story short, i loved it again, would absolutely put it right up there with skyrim and the witcher 3 for my favorite single player RPG's of all time and theres plenty about this game that i like way more than both of those games. obviously pretty useless to say any one of them is better than the others, those are just the games besides world of warcraft that ive put a hefty amount of hours into over the years. and while this was only my second time playing it and i didnt continue doing anything post-ending the first time, i can see myself coming back and just trying to max out everything i can and do some quests i skipped over just to revisit ferelden and orlais again, at least to hold me over until 4 comes out. also, while i did just play origins for the first time a couple months ago, im gonna give 2 a go now for sure. i just wanted to get a fresh inquisition run in after origins because 2 wasnt on sale at the moment and i didnt wanna pay full price, but of course while i was playing inquisition, 2 went on sale and i snagged it.

anyway sorry for the rambling. i think im gonna start a weekly blog where i get my thoughts out on whatever games im currently playing and what games ive got my eyes set on for the future. sounds really fun. and while da:2 is next on my list, most likely, i did snag the remastered mass effect trilogy and that thing is calling my fucking name. i loved the 5-7 hours i put into 2 last winter but i would love to start from the beginning since i have the remasters now.

just one last thing, ive been sharing some screenies since i found out how to screen print via steam and easily post and all that shit, so heres a few moments during my inquisition journey that i felt like sharing :) again, i cant sing this game's praises enough. it is far from perfect, EA fucked them over big time by forcing them to switch to frostbite pretty deep into the development cycle, but i need to be honest and tell you they definitely pulled off something spectacular and beautiful. the art direction of the series finally feels like it has its own identity and isnt generic fantasy tropes land environments laid out back to back to back to back. the lore is immersive and deep and great care is taken to keep it engaging and interesting. the combat is fantastic (i played an archer rogue) and i remember the first time i played this game in 2018 it blew my mind i could control other members of my party full and had agency over their builds and gear. i took much more care to keep my core party members that i took out most of the time geared up and with viable builds for what i needed. after i left haven i mostly ran myself, blackwall, dorian, and iron bull, occasionally swapping out iron bull for cull up until about level 15 when i just fully committed to bull. dont even get me started on the interactions with your companions, romantic relationships, and the care put into the individual stories and characters. but i digress, ive rambled enough and i doubt many will full read this, so heres the pics i promised :)

if youve never given dragon age games a shot, i cannot recommend them enough, and if you didnt like inquisition much when it came out i recommend revisiting it! and if i do start that blog posting about whatever games im working on on a weekly basis ill let yall know, if anyone cares :)

Are the Dragon Age games basically Mass Effect in a fantasy setting? I'd be all over that if that's the case

Dragon Age is like a spiritual successor to Neverwinter Nights, or I guess Baldur's Gate which I've never played. Also never played KOTOR but I'm sure it's closer to that than Mass Effect in terms of gameplay. I guess this all means nothing to someone less familiar with Bioware, though, haha

 

This shits definitely getting nerfed lol. Most of the clips I’ve seen this weekend are of this ability wrecking everyone

 

Watched Dr Disrespect and TimTheTatMan play Halo Infinite for a little bit. Looks good. Alot more like Halo 3 and less like Halo 5 which is excellent.

Still stand by GoW being a top 5 game for me, and easily my favorite of even the last 8 of that poll
