Alright, so next up its spoopy season and we're gonna be doing a Halloween Comp. This comp is pretty open-ended. You can submit covers or originals. And really, it's up to you what makes a song work for the comp. Basically, if you think a song fits the theme, then it fits the theme.

You are allowed 2 submissions, just call out any covers so we don't have duplicates.

When emailing me your submissions, put in the subject that it’s for the Halloween comp. Then provide the information below (I would appreciate a copy/paste of this format).

If your chorus name is what you want your artist name to be, just put that in there. I'm scattered brained so this formatting has actually helped me a lot with not screwing up information.

I'll probably re-mix my "Great Pumpkin" song from a year or two ago and re-submit it for this comp, and then write or cover another song as well.

 

I've always wanted to learn the Bly Manor theme, but I can't exactly read sheet music...

 

I can't read sheet music either. When in binds I'll try and find midi files of the music I need. You just drop them into a project and can either use virtual instruments or just use the midi track as a reference as it'll have the notes. I don't know if this is exactly what you were referring to, but I found this: The Haunting of Bly Manor Ending Theme

Also, things have been a little crazy lately so I haven't been very active around here, but I saw some very kind words from a lot of you about my submissions for the originals comp, so thank you all very much for listening. And for those who said it was very Manchester Orchestra-esque, I couldn't agree more. They've been one of my favorite bands for a very long time now, and I totally stole their style for that song haha.

I was cooking up a spooky cover but my laptop died on me recently and it's being repaired. I had to ship it off, and I'm not sure when it will be ready (could be up to a few weeks). Hopefully I will have enough time to finish
