According to Meltzer Sasha vs. Charlotte is the planned main event for Clash of the Champions.

Wow, that would be crazy over a KO/Rollins match. Also would make me think sasha is going back over to get her title back

 

Wait so what about Bayley?

 

I'd love to see women main event a PPV but to be completely honest I don't see how that match is a bigger deal than Rollins vs. KO. It just has a lot more going for it. Rollins is finally face, Triple H is hovering over the whole thing... Meanwhile, Charlotte is also feuding with Bayley and has spent more time building tension with Brooke than with Banks. Just doesn't seem like the right time and feels like they're doing it for publicity.

 

Bayley should win it at Mania. Give her some time to build.

 

Agreed. Having the womens match be the main event would basically guarantee we dont see HHH, as they'd want that reveal for the end.

Also, everything since Summerslam on RAW has been about the Universal title. The match at CoC is actually the first title defense ever. Its a big deal and should main event.

So unless they are gonna pull some crazy swerve to make the womens title match relevant in the coming two weeks, its an odd choice

 

Yeah, even if it had been her vs Charlotte at CoC, I didnt think she was gonna win. As long as Bayley gets a match for the PPV, Im fine.

Though, Sasha winning would be key, because if Charlotte retains, the feuds going forward are odd. Bayley/Dana doesnt work. Sasha/Bayley could, but, they cant really heel turn Sasha yet. And I cant see them having Nia go over Bayley or Sasha so soon.

 

I'd love it if WWE is building to get where New Japan is currently where every singles title could main event any PPV ( besides maybe Wrestle Kingdom ) and nobody thinks twice about it.

 

Could have worked with the IC title, but the program they just started shit all over that idea.

With one legit tag team on Smackdown, they fucked that up too.

 

This spot is seriously everything.

 

Yeah, I agree. The women absolutely deserve to main event a PPV, but I think there needs to be a bit more build for the current Sasha/Charlotte feud to warrant that, especially with the Seth vs KO stuff going on. I would personally hold off for another PPV or two, build up some sort of triple threat between Sasha, Charlotte, and Bayley for the title, and do it there. Have Sasha turn on Bayley. The Hugster is so fucking over right now, that alone would raise the stakes a ton.

No matter when the women main event a PPV, you're going to have the Neanderthal wrestling fans claiming they don't deserve it and it's all for publicity or whatever. Even though I think they're more than deserving right now to main event, their current story doesn't trump what was laid down last night with Seth/KO/Steph/HHH/Mick. Let them build up the women's storyline to that level first, then pull the trigger on them main eventing, just so there are no doubters.

Nice. I went a similar route with The Glorious Bombs. A few of my friends also went with wrestling related team names - The Bonafide Studs, The KO Maniacs, and We Stay Hyped.

 

Without a doubt the hardest I've ever marked out at a spot in my life. There was actually a split second (you can actually see it in this gif) where everyone had to process what the hell just happened before they lost their shit.

 

one of those odd wrestling logic questions that comes to me at strange moments:

how come using the announce table as a weapon doesn't get you disqualified during a regular match like a chair, sledgehammer, bell or taking off the turnbuckle pad does?

i get you're not swinging it into someone's face, but if a wrestler brings a chair in the ring and power bombs or DDT's or piledrives someone on the chair in the ring, it's a DQ, but not for the table (or the stairs for that matter).

 

the video (crowd part) almost looks fake because of that haha. all of a sudden you see people popup everywhere as if randomly being added.

 

Great question haha. The only thing I can think of is it's not a weapon. It's apart of the outside ring area (same with the ring post and barricade). Basically if you can't pick it up, you can use it. Same thing with the stairs. If you whip your opponent into them, it's quite ok. Same with doing a move on them. If you pick it up and use it, it's a DQ.
