The only one I didn't wtf at was the one with the arrow that said rapist. That doesn't bother me. I can't read the one on the bottom right.

  11. i like the idea of protesting brock turners house, not even totally against doing so while holding a rifle, bad to hold a sign that could be construed as a rape threat though

Almost lost my cool on this former classmate who is another one of those super passionate feminists (who happens to be a former Republican who campaigned for Mitt fucking Romney) who supports Hillary Clinton.

She posted the video below with this fucking caption:

""Human rights are women's rights, and women's rights are human rights once and for all." HRC/ my homegirl/ our next president/ our first female president."

I'm not sure why I'm so intolerant and pissy about this shit lately, but I think it's aggravated by the fact that this chick sucks and is a loudmouth gunner in class who tries to sound smart and once went on a rant about cultural appropriation (as a critic of it) and completely missed the fucking point of the concept.

Oh, and she, as a great feminist, wants to go into corporate law where she defends advertisers (who, if I am not mistaken, disproportionately exploit women per a study of their civil litigation).

  15. It's 100% okay to not support Hillary Clinton (obviously), but I'm not sure it is helpful (or sits well with me) to police the feminism of a non-public figure individual (your former classmate) who isn't privy to this conversation based on such a flat analysis/sampling of information about her.

Fair enough. But her previous...opinions against intersectionality represent a feminist approach that I don't think at all reflects the history, or alternatively the trajectory, of the ideology. And, consequently, I don't take it as genuine at all in that it merely reduces feminism to being a pro-white woman political interest instead of being one of the most powerful, and certainly in my opinion the most inclusive, social movement of our time. A wealthy white girl who touts oneself as a feminist and then hold HRC up as a beacon of "human rights" irks me.

Not too sure where to post this, but Shaant Timothy from Cute Is What We Aim For has some pretty lovely opinions on rape culture (or the lack thereof, in his eyes). Barf. Just a sample of his gross statements.

I legitimately had no idea that there were people who thought that the concept of rape culture simply entailed that there was a huge shadow organization of guys who are actively conspiring with one another to rape people. Then again, I have heard people claim that institutional racism doesn't exist because they have never heard someone use the n-word.
