If you're not familiar with Caustic, now's as good a time as any to change that.

re: Carcass I’m more of a fan of their pre-Heartwork sound & my vote is for Reek of Putrefaction

not sure how into grind you are but you could argue this is as rocking as grind can get & a good place to start (crazy this was released in 88) although get ready for some nasty lofi production

they would get more deathy & polished & then more melodeathy & then full on melodeath

that said, Heartwork is a sick album & definitely a landmark so check that out as well especially if you’re into the more melodic stuff & guitar solos I guess

You can't go wrong no matter where you start with them imo. New album is great too

IMHO just start here with Carcass and work your way forward chronologically.

This may or may not be an excuse just to post an 80s grind demo here.

    a literal succubitch

Now for today's listening dump of "whaaaaat's the gorehound thinkin about."

Dunno what to compare this to, but if I had to guess I'd compare it to Cerebral Rot with some Demilich thrown in with a louder and clearer production. Still caked in filth though. One-man project too.

Melodeath of the dying breed that Intestine Baalism belong to - which is to say, fast and grinding melodeath that has any sort of bite whatsoever.

Menacing, beefy melodic black/death from Switzerland. Metal Archives says RIYL Dissection. I think they're chunkier than Dissection but whatever.

Antifascist war metal about beheading Nazis and shit. Much needed influence in the cesspit that is the war metal scene.

Full of Hell are one of the best live bands out there. If you haven't seen them and they're coming near you, don't miss that tour!

The clean vocals just kill it for me. I'm into Connie's screams, the sass vocals, and the instrumentals, but those cleans...ugh.

The last time I saw them they were still just a powerviolence band (which is still great live and on album) but it would be great to see their deathgrind stuff. I saw them with Dropdead and Noisem.

I’m legit heartbroken that isn’t anywhere near me. Like I really don’t wanna drive to Kansas and I can’t really do the Chicago show since I got Motion City Soundtrack a couple days later and my current card hand of life won’t permit that anyway. If anyone of you don’t go to this, I’ll be disappointed in you.

I don't hate the cleans as much as you but they are the worst part of the song for sure.

Wow a tour finally coming to Tampa. I don't listen to any of these bands on a regular basis but I might go just to see live music again
