I really don’t get the hype of this. Sounds like pretty standard metalcore. Dying Wish is far more interesting in my opinion.

 

What do people think of the new Carcass record? Haven’t gotten the chance to listen

 

I like it a lot - gnarlier, weirder, and heftier than Surgical Steel, less hectic, a little less eager to please. They sound like they're having a blast. I'm stoked to read the lyrics, something I never say about metal albums lol

New Carcass is great so far. Like @hollowmines said, it seems like they're just doing their thing and having fun. The album reminds me a bit more of Heartwork than Surgical Steel so far. There's some fun mid-tempo passages in there too that are nice.

Update: I now think it's on par with Surgical Steel, at least. The last four songs in particular are relentlessly fun.

 

carcass album rips and is exactly what i needed after trying out spiritbox (sorry, totally not my thing)

carcass on the other hand is extremely fucking good as hell

 

Nah both of them slap. Spiritbox took me a few attempts to click with me but holy fuck their sound is so refreshing and unique. Carcass I went into frankly expecting to hate because last I had heard regarding their recent output was that Surgical Steel was bloated and overhyped so I never bothered with their newer material but from what I heard it sounded decent.

 

Unique huh?
