This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

I admire the artistry behind Unitive/East and how it likely serves as a thematic bridge to Horizons/West, but I wish it was bit more accessible like Silver Wings, which makes angels cry.

I'm a few weeks behind on my releases, but I got one listen in because it is Thrice. It sounds magnificent. I can't wait to give it more time.

Really bummed by the dislike towards Palms. We all have different tastes, but seems to be a low point for most fans. Its not perfect, but it has some truly great songs. Beyond the Pines gets me every time.

I pretty much adore Palms. It isn’t as consistent as this record or Beggars, but I would take Palms over TBE any day.

I love Beggars, but the songs are more traditional format-wise while here they get to be a bit weirder. I was needing weirder Thrice, really bad

All Thrice albums are good, I think it's more of a competition than good or bad when discussed haha.

Before I go back and read the entire thread I'm going to just lay down some first impressions...

This is the most experimental Thrice have sounded since The Alchemy Index and I'm completely here for it. I'm halfway through my second listen, but man... does every song have such a unique identity. Every single member is on the top of their game and all have incredible stand-out moments across the album. The production is also crystal clear. I think it's the best has band has ever sounded on record.

    God. This. Is. SO. GOOD.

This wasn't bad. Better than M/M and To Be Everywhere for sure. Probably about the same as Palms in the end.

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

It's so cool how these dudes have their own recording space again and can do more concocting whenever they want, without having to pay Red Bull Studios $1500 a day.

    I like it a lot - a really consistent and cohesive album:clap:

  17. One go through my first impression is meh, middle of the road type of stuff. I think I like it the best of the post reunion albums, though.

"Beyond the Pines" is one of their best songs. Nothing on the rest of the album comes close for me.

Yeah nothing touches Beyond The Pines for me. But Just Breathe and Blood on Blood are pretty great too. Also love the singles from Palms.

    Riot set:

    Scavengers
    Artist
    All the World is Mad
    Black Honey
    Of Dust and Nations
    In Exile
    Promises
Summer Set Fire to the Rain
    Hurricane
    Just Breathe
    Firebreather
    The Earth Will Shake

Unfortunately we only got Scavengers and Set Fire but they both sound amazing live. Great, great set otherwise, if not fairly basic. I missed them so much.
