We reach for the longest shadow

I hate whoever compared the closer to TMV, I can't unhear that now.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

there is a light is so awesome, such a party

gracias a la vida is certainly a divisive closer - not traditional in any sense. My partner and I were discussing it the first time we heard it, we felt that each passing of the tape-click changed the period that was reflected in the production…from the 70s to the future, to signify the timeless impact of the relationship on her/the character. Adding the fact that it’s a protest song, it seems like Kacey included it to serve dual meanings. Need to do more research about the history of the original song before wrapping up my thoughts about it

Either way it’s a bold way to close out the record

Golden Hour is the masterpiece for me, but I think any ranking of the first three is pretty justifiable.

first two are pretty neck and neck for me with Golden ever so slightly after. really close for all 3 though

I think all three dip in the back end with a couple of duds. But the rest of the songs are so masterful that I don't care. They're all great.

From the first three, the only song I don’t really like is “This Town.”

For me, you can remove "Stupid" from STDP, "Cup of Tea" and "Die Fun" from PG and "Wonder Woman" from GH and they'd be better for it.

If you try to take "Die Fun" you WILL die.

The "Somebody to Love"/"Miserable"/"Die Fun" trio is the best part of the discography.

Hahaha. There's just something about that chorus that's so "This was written to be printed on a shirt you'd find in a novelty store" that I've never been able to get past.

I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. You could probably say the same thing about, like, "Baby we were born to run."

For sure. It's definitely a nitpick. Listening to it again, it's a very good song.

The difference in streaming numbers between Golden Hour and Pageant Material is wild and frustrating. How the heck is "Rainbow" the biggest song of hers on Spotify?

It was inexplicably the only Golden Hour song that got any country airplay.
