I'm not finished listening to the album, but I liked it more than I thought I would. Those first three singles are my least favorite tracks on the record, and I think I'd like the album more if this was the first release for a new band.

Going to give it a few more listens and see how it holds up

 

Underneath my skin and Just a phase are pretty fire. Those should have been singles for sure

 

Overall I think the album is pretty solid; no absolute bangers like Daphne Blue or See Through, but still has plenty of great jams

 

That song is what made me fall in love with this band.

 

While I'm not super into this album as a whole, I do disagree with this. I think Know it All is an absolute banger for sure.

The rest of the album... meh. There are moments that remind me why my hopes have been so high for this band, but they've just never been able to evolve the sounds of those early singles/eps in a way I find interesting. It kind of feels like they've taken the most generic parts of their sound and pushed harder in that direction.

 

“Know it all” has really grown on me and “who do you think you are” definitely reminds me of some of their older stuff

 

So many of these songs just don’t move - really surprised by all the mid tempo pap

 

The fact that the album is explicit makes the Roses censorship even weirder

Yeah it’s just weird they didn’t have an album version with all the other random swears everywhere

 

I think it's just an artistic choice. It's so obvious they should be saying fucking there, so they just left it out for fun.

I had fun I just didn't take this pop album as anything more than a pop album and vibed with it

 

Yeah there are some good moments on here, but back in the day I was just hoping for an album full of Daphne Blues and See Throughs.

 

After multiple listens it just breaks you down and you forget all the expectations you had and just settle for what is there - vacant, vapid, and trite, but also entirely listenable lol I’ve just been following them for so long waiting for this debut to be a real big one. Can’t remember a debut LP I’ve been as disappointed in. Big comeback album on the way baby!
