Yeah, I'm with you completely. I'd much rather resolve things immediately then feel guilty for months.

I'm straightforward now and I get called a bitch a lot which is whatever. They could be a little more clever, imo.

 

straightforwardness is tight. i literally do not intend on having feelings for anyone ever again in my life so to not be straightforward about that would a little rude i think.

Ghosting is essentially saying to someone "you're disposable", like every other thing in this world. I would rather be honest, hurt them in the moment, but give them the dignity of having an answer.

it sucks ass. i seriously just don't have the energy to like even want that anymore. i like the feeling of being wanted but i don't ever want to fall in love again.

 

Just make sure the choice isn't pure reaction. There is legitimacy in choosing what sort of relationships we engage in, but getting beyond the pain is important in cultivating healthy relationships, romantic or otherwise.

 

This is something I've been thinking about. Obviously I don't need to make a permanent decision like that now, but I can't help but feel if I can find happiness alone again then why potentially ruin it again?

 

Went on a second date today with the girl I had a first date with yesterday.
We had a drive down the coast to a little town, had some food and some ice cream and hung out for the day.

Lots of fun again, and I may actually see her tomorrow as well. Sadly she's going away on holiday on Wednesday, and knowing my luck she'll fall in love with a handsome Portuguese guy.

I haven't seriously dated in a really long time. I'm not opposed to it but I'm busy with work, and I'm guarded which I've found some guys aren't a fan of. I wanna get a handle on my personal life before I seriously date again but lbr that will take forever so maybe I should chill and just do it lol

So now that I'm getting a bit older and one of my best longtime friends is married and to an Indonesian, I had this interaction:

I am a very self-reflective person which I think can be good and bad. Good in the sense that I've hashed out my last breakup in my head a lot and parsed out what I want or don't want and what I won't stand for anymore. I've become good at detecting red flags. Downside, I talk myself out of things instead of giving them a chance.

The last guy who asked for my number, he asked what I was listening to and was like "One Direction? Aren't they that Disney band" and internally I was like ok but can this really work if he doesn't know 1D from the JoBros??? lol I'm a ridic mess. Can talk myself out of a date real fast over anything.

 

I'm thirty-one. According to my sister, I'm on the road to being in my mid-30's or 40's and still dating, and that isn't "cute". Ha.

 

It's more acceptable for men to be single lol I'm close to being branded a spinster.
