I’d give yourself a solid half hour or hour of hollow knight before reaching for a guide at least. I don’t think I had to use one until at least a couple hours in. It was nice to kind of figure things out on my own to get started though and only grab a guide when I felt like I needed one

 

also I got the city of tears and spent some time exploring yesterday. got the nail upgrade and found the map guy. have ended up losing tons of geo from deaths lol but it’s alright

 

I think Hollow Knight is my favorite game. I 112% it a couple years ago, I’ve been thinking of replaying once more before Silksong, but might just try to finally beat the Pantheon of Hollownest, or Path of Pain

Life's too short and my backlog is too big to 100% every game I play. I think I've only done that once, and it was for the GBA port of FF1 believe it or not lol

Just fuckin beat Genichiro Ashina, what a FUN god damn fight. Sekiro boss battles do not get me pissed off like Dark Souls boss battles. Or maybe i'm just conditioned to know getting pissed just makes you suck more. I think Sekiro combat is just more fun.

 

Celeste is definitely a more direct to 100%. and has to feel satisfying.

JRPGs and Open World game 100%'s just sound tedious and awful. Fuck.

 

Psyconauts 2 is so good. So far the overall level design feels a bit lacking compared to 1, but given 1 has some of the best level design ever done in a video game I can't really fault it for only having levels that are very good. And everything else about it (especially the story) exceeds the original.

 

Speaking of 100%. Just finished Dead Rising 2: Case Zero. A fun game that bridges the first two games. Took me about 6 hours in total. Completion number 132.

I'd love to see an overall percentage of how many consoles scalpers got their hands on.

 

It has to be the vast majority. I think PS5 software sales numbers would probably be instructive, I’d imagine they aren’t very high in relation to number of consoles that have been sold.

Looking at Xbox software sales wouldn’t really be helpful considering GamePass is a thing. Amount of GamePass subscribers playing on Series X or S would make more sense.

 

Yeah, there are reports that state 10 to 15 percent it's from Feb 2021. There's another story from May 2021 about a shoe resale site selling 140k.

The true numbers have to be massive. It couldn't be that hard for Walmart or BB to reduce the scalping significantl. What a mess.

Yeah that was just after the release so it's covering just the pre-order numbers probably. It's definitely way higher now.
