I never cared much for Bleed American

Please explain why you love Futures but don't care for Bleed American. They're very similar!

 

Bleed American has some really good songs but as a whole just doesn’t really hit for me the way the albums surrounding it do

 

I’m pretty much always reaching for Chase This Light these days

 

The Middle has been so overplayed in movies and radio, that I’m just tired of it now. And to me, Futures is pretty different. No songs on BA sound like 23, Night Drive, Polaris, and Drugs Or Me.

Integrity Blues does not deserve to be that low.

 

Regardless, the trajectory of my music listening experience for the day has taken a turn for the better and I will now be listening to Jimmy all day as a result of this thread.

 

Futures is in a league of its own. The songs are just superior IMO

ranking albums is especially pointless when it comes to a band like jimmy eat world because they're all great and putting them in any sort of order does a disservice to the albums and the band. so im just picking out which one im listening to. and like i said its invented season for me. but im going to my hometown this weekend and will probably get all nostalgic and whimsical and throw futures and bleed american into rotation. although now that its been out for 11 years i suppose invented counts as a nostalgia baiting record for me

 

Invented is like “still warm, but the leaves are starting to change color and there’s a chill in the breeze” fall, whereas Futures is like “the clocks have changed and it’s always dark and the leaves are falling off the trees” fall. Both perfect autumn records.

 

exactly. invented is it still gets dark after 6pm music, future is it gets dark before 5pm music

 

Damage is "wow it's February and I cannot wait for the weather to get warmer"
