Having a similar experience unfortunately

 

Hooks and production are dope but jesus the lyrics make me cringe. Nope nope nope.

 

I do enjoy the finished version of dna more though

 

Haha, this was actually the only one of the non-singles that I kinda liked

 

Still have the last 4 to go but the singles are def leading the way.

 

There aren’t enough Boops and beeps in the world that could make some of these slower/mid tempo ballads even remotely engaging and interesting

 

I like care less - chorus could have given a bit more though - at least it moves a bit

 

Till I don’t wasnt terrible - liked the bridge but the song seemed quick. Closer was wack. Welp 5-6/12. Malibu 4 evahhhh

At least the new Joan song was good

 

All same thoughts; Joan's new one the only one I've liked/saved on Spotify so far

 

Everyone listen to heart of golds new single headache - I like that one

 

The new valley song went so hard live too - it’s weird how muted the studio version is. It was super fun in Nashville

 

This just should have been the dancing in the kitchen ep - trim the fat

 

I think it’s just a symptom of the Spotify era - more tracks on an album leads to more streams. Which means songs that normally would have been cut, instead get included in the release

 

Most, if not all, of this album shoulda been cut. Hated the songs I heard before, hate the rest. This band is probably done.

 

Fav track from this recent LANY era is actually the track he did with Kelsea Ballerini, “I Quit Drinking”

 

There are 4 or 5 songs I’d listen to more this once from this.

I’d listen to none of them over anything pre-Mama’s Boy, however. The band lost their magic, but what can ya do. At least the self-titled and Malibu Nights still hit after 1,000 spins.
