Anyone want to go to the Pop Punk Pizza Party? I’m trying to sell my ticket. $20. Save $4 plus whatever processing is. I might also have a buddy who wants to movie his ticket.

So we have six acts for Thursday. Guessing that's just the one stage, then?

Well, Josh has that date with the Psychedelic Furs. So unless that gets cancelled...

That's a good question, I kinda want Joyce to headline a small stage.

Yeah I feel like they'll just bounce between the two main stages, if I had to guess. I'd be annoyed if I had to walk all over the park for just 6 bands.

Just got an e-mail about the Thursday Preview Party:

This makes me feel like it might be the two main stages. Otherwise, it'd just be weird having the Deluxe VIP area open by the main stage simply for free drinks. Hah. But part of the strategy to keep the free drinks down for the day might be to have it open, but far away from the stages.

  8. Two stages would serve to get people moving across a bigger area of the park, but it just doesn't seem like enough bands to make it work unless they start a few hours after gates open. But I've never been so who knows

There is always someone else I want to see when Patti Smith is playing at Riot, so I’m happy she is on Thursday. I’m disappointed that Alk3 isn’t playing an album though.

The way the bands on Thursday are listed and the two stage theory makes sense. Morrissey, Patti, and kristeen on one stage with alkaline Trio, Joyce Manor and WDRL on the other.

Listening to the lone song WDRL has on Spotify right now, and I am definitely into this!

Also, as a random aside: Looks like the Bollweevils are gonna be putting out something for Red Scare in 2021! Their presence on the line-up makes a whole lot more sense now.

How are we supposed to pronounce WDRL? Or do we just say each letter?

I believe it’s an acronym for We Dont Ride Llamas

Yeah that's def it. I initially clicked on WDRL. and was confused by the Latin hip hop haha.

It's been kinda wild watching that "trend" take hold the last ~5 years or so. Where at first it was like "Wait, why is there a random 'V' in the middle of this name? Oh wait. 'Paris.' Got it."

Now, it's 2021. We were all just presented with a perfectly valid acronym and we just sorta assumed it was meant to be spoken aloud as a full word instead of multiple letters.

I think Linkin Park (as opposed to Lincoln Park) was probably the first search engine optimized band name I ever came across. That band Live must be kicking themselves having that name in 2021.

Try searching for the late 2000's band Park sometime. It SUCKS.

A is the band I have the most difficult time googling. Even writing 'A band' was not helpful for a while

To be fair, I don't think a lot of bands are googling that band nowadays. Hah. I kinda dug them, though!

I had no idea who they were but I saw them with the Bloodhound Gang and Nerf Herder in 2000. That show still stands out as an all-time favorite of mine, hah.
