Look em up. They actually have some jams. and a couple poorly aged/dropping plates esque songs.

The Roach Koach podcast had fun dissecting their debut.

If we’re just remembering some bands at this point, I really liked that Hotwire record when I was younger

definitely closer to the Finch/Glassjaw side of things, probably would have gotten bigger if they were on Warped instead of Ozzfest

I was actually on the Hotwire street team. They sent me a giant roll of stickers which I plastered all over town and took pictures, which wound up winning me a contest and I got backstage passes for 2nd stage of Ozzfest the year they played. It was awesome.

  12. This record is awesome. Agreed that there probably would have been more support for it in the Warped scene. I still revisit this one now and then.

    that's awesome

I remember checking to see who was playing the second stage to kind of get an idea of what bands were about to potentially pop after Slipknot blew up off that stage. then after that you had Taproot, Crazy Town, Mudvayne and a few others who weren't much when they were playing it but got a lot of shine off it

    those were fun days

As an old man, I don't miss standing in a 110 degree Texas parking lot for 12 hours, but 20 years ago, Ozzfest/Warped was the most fun day of the year by a long shot.

I might still have a sticker or promo CD or something. I definitely have other/obscure stuff from around that time. I'll look and see if I can find anything.

  19. Haha I can comfortably say I would have never thought about this band/song again as long as I live.

Makes me appreciate the insane amount of music I was consuming during this period.

I used to go to sleep away camp every year when I was in middle school, and one year, one of my cabin counselors was a total nu-metal bro. I think he was also on the Ozzfest street team, and gave all of us kids two-song Seether sampler CDs and stickers lol

so I got into Nonpoint in high school and met an older kid in one of my classes that was popular, on the football team, cool as fuck, etc. etc. and he used to let me go to lunch with him and stuff and always looked out for me, was very kind to me and all and our whole rapport was based on the fact that one day we were talking music and he mentioned how his sister was dating the singer of a band. I asked which band and he said Nonpoint, and from that day forward I had a friend

still a pretty dope band too

I just did some digging through a tub full of this kind of stuff and didn't see anything Hotwire related (I'll keep looking though) - I did come across a bunch of other stuff though. I'll post some pics later for the flex.

If anyone wants Story of the Year stickers, I have a shit load of those. I was also on their street team.
