I thought I would be the only one to hear the Hostage Calm similarities, nice.

don’t have anything new to add to the dialog, record rules like we all knew it was going to.

 

Some young kid is going to pick up this record and it’s going to be life changing for them

 

This was good

 

Two very different styles but two incredible bands that changed the narrative for what constitutes hardcore.

 

I think it’s pretty incredible I have both Quicksand and Turnstile in my EOTY list. Very good year for punk and hardcore.

 

This'll probably end up in my top 25 at least. It's been a good year for punk, hardcore, and metal so it's got a lot of competition on my end.

 

Hostage Calm S/T truly one of the most underrated “scene” records I can think of

 

This album or Between the Richness will be my AOTY

 

sorry but talking about end of the year lists, especially in august, is in one ear out the other to me, none of this means anything to me. its a great album tho

 

Now is about when I start finalizing some contenders but nothing is solidified until December when things start to slow down.

 

I don’t even really keep track of my stuff. I honestly have to go through tons of other peoples lists to remember wtf I listened to each year. Then I formulate mine.

 

I don’t care about EOTY stuff nearly as much as I used to but it’s pretty harmless fun for a lot of people

 

Ready Or Not, Turnstile Is Breaking Through

The fact Senior Management at a major label are even commenting on this record speaks volumes. When was the last time anything like this has been said about a hardcore band? Even a rock act?

 

Please sir I just want everyone to know that the one album that dropped in January is still my album of the year

yeah the vinyl was long gone by the time I got to the thing. so were all of the shirts in my size and the burgers lmao

 

I hate to say this but I can't unhear that the call at the start of WILD WRLD is the exact same melody as the bridge of Justin Timberlake's Until The End Of Time

 

The comparison to Local H on Dance-Off are spot on. That groovy/fuzzy bass line.

 

The Franz tracks are pretty damn awesome.
