  3. Is this new one a sequel? I know it's not out yet but I'm wondering if I can go into it blind?

I have been told it is a sequel (I believe the main character is a child in the original but is now fully grown) but it seems to not be so direct in that you couldn't see it on its own. I guess I won't know that for sure until this weekend though. I'm sure others can report back after they see it also.

I just watched Halloween H2O for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It was obviously FAR from perfect but I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.

Is the DGG Halloween worth watching?

Yeah it's the best sequel by far

  8. Definitely, I think it's the third best Halloween film after the OG Halloween 2

The Toxic Avenger is so fucked up lol I can't believe it too me this long to watch it. Are the sequels worth it, or should I skip ahead to Citizen Toxie?

Direct sequel to the 1992 movie. Yahya plays a grown up version of a character from the first movie.

As far as what you need to know… I can’t answer until tomorrow I’m sure they made it so newbs can enjoy it though.

If you enjoyed H20, I have a hard time seeing you not enjoy the DGG version.

I love H20 despite it's flaws.. (i.e. cgi/bad masks, marco beltrami scream score, hartnett's hair)

  14. Yep! Gonna be controversial though, lol.

    Halloween
    Halloween II
    Halloween (2018)
    Season of the Witch
    Halloween 4
    Halloween 6
    Halloween (2007)
    Halloween Ressurection
    Halloween H20
    Halloween 5
    Halloween 2 (2009)

Halloween 6 and Ressurection land their spots for being bad but fun to watch.

H20 has some good stuff. There's a lot of late 90s post-Scream stuff from the casting to the dialog to the cold open with JGL.

Flaws are terrible mask and a lot of off-screen kills

  17. Yeah, H20 is okay, I think I was expecting more from the typically high praise it gets and kind of just found it to be standard, maybe a little bland.

Poor baby, you're starting to lose it.

For real, HOW did the Myers mask get so bad between 4-H20? I think the closest they got was The Curse of Michael Myers.

    Halloween Series

    1. Halloween II
    2. Halloween
    3. Halloween 2 (2009)
    4. Return
    5. H2O
    6. Season of the Witch
    7. Halloween (2018)
    8. Revenge
    9. Curse
    10. Halloween (2007)
    11. Resurrection

I can admit Zombie’s sequel is probably too high but I find it so fascinating and genuinely love it.

Off-screen deaths and a low kill count. Things I dislike but kind of admire?

  21. Somedays, the OG Halloween 2 could be my favorite as well. Totally different tone in terms of violence and gore, but just as effective imo, and that tissue is still there connecting it to the first film.

Resurrection may not be good, but it's like Freddy vs. Jason as I rewatch it the most out of the series (well besides season of the witch).

Temps supposed to drop to low 70s all next week. This excites me because it's really hard for me to get into my fall horror movie rotation when it's fucking 110.

Have you guys seen Dave Made a Maze? Its on Shudder and its good fun. Its like if the game Tearaway was a horror movie. lol

That said, it doesn't really lean into the horror much. Mostly just comedy with some really neat deaths.
